Barong is likely the most good glorious dance in Balo. It is also another prevarication telling, narrating the campaign between sainted (good) and demonic (bad). This diversion is the classic representation of language way of acting out mythology, resulting in myth and story existence alloyed into one actuality.
The tale goes that Rangda (bad symbolic), the fuss of Erlangga, the King of Bali in the tenth century, was seized by Erlangga's head because she practiced individual wizard. After she became a woman, she summoned all the grievous spirits in the camp, the leaks and the demons, to uprise after Erlangga. A try occurred, but she and her mortal conjuration personnel were too beardown that Erlangga had to ask for the cater of Barong. Barong came with Erlangga's soldiers, and fight ensued. Rangda casted a language that made Erlangga soldiers all loved to terminate themselves, pointing their poisoned keris into their own stomachs and chests. Barong casted a speech that reversed their body defiant to the keen wounded in a Barong diversion. It is said that if Rangda's tour is too strengthened, a weak confederate may not be competent to baulk it, still with the supply of Barong. He may end up hurting himself with his own keris.
The masks of Barong and Rangda are reasoned sublime items, and before they are brought out, a balinese ritual or ritual priest must be present to offer blessings by sprinkling them with holy water taken from Mount Agung, and offerrings must be presented.
There are several place to watch barong dance, but the famous place is in Batubulan Gianyar.
